I see plenty of single axle tractors around, hence 16 wheels (n/m) posted by Eric(DE) on March 20, 2002 at 11:30 AM |

Most tractors are a 10 tires vehicle, 2 front tires, 8 rear tires (2 axel w/duals). Then most trailors 48-52&58 footers are 2 axel with duals, hence the 18 wheels. BUT, for it to be a 16 wheelers then that trailor would have to have 3 axels with single tires (Very rare, poor wieght distrubition) or 2 axel's 1 with duals, and one with singles (Seen it, but because the driver let two of his tires went flat => FYI is all, you saw a 14 wheelers.CowBoy Silver 91 NA>TT
